Arif Sarıca Konağı (Sarıca Apartmanı)
About the project
The Arif Sarıca Mansion is a historic building at Moda Avenue No. 147 in the Moda quarter of Kadıköy, Istanbul. The building was built in 1903 by the Ottoman Greek architect C. Pappa as an apartment building for members of the Sarıca family. It consists of a basement, a ground floor, three upper floors and an attic; notable features include Ionic capitals at the monumental entrance, wooden slat blinds, and frescoes on the walls and ceilings. During the Allied occupation it was used as a school for more than two years and was then returned to the family. The building is still owned by the grandchildren of the Sarıca family.
