Doğan Apartmanı

About the project

Doğan Apartmanı is an 1894 residential building at Serdar-ı Ekrem Caddesi No:31 in Galata, Beyoğlu, Istanbul. It was commissioned by the Belgian banking family Helbig, bought by the Botton family in 1919 and finally owned by Kazım Taşkent. The building took its name after the death of his son Doğan Taşkent. Arranged in four blocks around a courtyard enclosed on three sides, it was divided by Taşkent into apartments and 2 shops and sold. The building is used as housing today.
